The Parish Worship Commission serves as a standing committee of the Parish Pastoral Council. This Commission is advisory and consultative to the parish liturgy coordinator or music minister and pastor/pastoral administrator in matters pertaining to the liturgical life of the parish.
The Worship Commission strives, through an ongoing commitment to prayerful discussion and reflection, to foster liturgical celebrations that the need for all parishioners to achieve “full, active and conscious” participation at the Eucharist – the “source and summit” of the Church’s life.
Worship commits itself to the following goals and objectives:
1. Be attuned to individual voices in the parish and act as their liaison to Pastoral Council in matters of liturgy.
2. Keep updated on liturgical changes and assist in their implementation.
3. Be sensitive to the roles of environment, music and ritual in creating celebrations that nurture a closer relationship with Christ and each other.
4. Be responsive to the staffing and training needs of Liturgical Ministers, ensuring the smooth celebration of liturgies.
